VMware Scripts Hub “VMware Sample Exchange”

How many times you searched in Google/Bing for the SCRIPT to pull sanpshots information??

List of VM’s with CD drive attached??

I know we search the blogs/websites for VMware Health Checks/Firmware versions … etc but now you do not need to search Google rather you search it here “VMware Sample Exchange”

The VMware Samples Exchange (SVE) is basically a gathering place for sample scripts for every day tasks you would need when working with a VMware environment. It’s possible for the community itself to upload their favorite scripts and put them in categories, so they are easy to find. Uploading scripts is limited to vExperts only during the beta period, but everything is available to look at for everyone else and uploading will open up once the beta period is over. I heard it from vExpert program team about VMware Sample Exchange beta Site and spent some time on this site, as the site is its initial stage so there is not much script samples available yet however the idea seems very promising and useful. Browse and download code samples from VMware as well as code samples contributed by the VMware community. Log in to Sample Exchange using your MyVMware credentials to submit requests for new samples, contribute your own samples, as well as propose a sample as a solution for open requests.

The best part of the SVE is that it is fully integrated with GitHub, making it possible to keep herding your scripts on GitHub and using the SVE as an organiser. You can group your samples into categories such as Automation Tools, End-User Computing, Platform & Compute (categories are likely to be added once it grows), put tags on the sample for easy searches and create a description for public viewing. The community vibe is pretty big on the SVE, as the community will provide content, but also important feedback. Per sample, people can favorite it, so it gains popularity and also start a discussion on the sample by leaving comments.

The beta is for a period of 60 days and in this period only vExperts can contribute/request for sample code/scripts and Non-vExperts can only browse and download.
